Slough Area

Slough is a town with a population of more than 120,000 in East Berkshire. It is situated 19 miles west of London and is one of the most ethnically diverse areas in the country outside the capital.

Slough is thought of as a great place to live and rent because of its great transport links. The town has a modern mix of city amenities, and is close to Windsor and Maidenhead.

Slough property and rental prices are cheaper compared to many other towns in East Berkshire, and properties range from spacious detached homes, to convenient town centre flats. It also includes a good number of older Victorian semis, modern flats and homes.

Community

Slough is home to the huge Slough Trading Estate which, coupled with extensive transport links, makes it an important business centre in the South East. It is also a great place to buy property for anyone interested in working in the technology industry.

The area's shopping combines a range of national chains and local specialist shops, as well a shops which reflect its diverse cultural background. As well as a bustling High Street there are several out-of-town retail parks.

The West Wing Arts Centre is a theatre dance and music venue, and for children and adults there is Montem Leisure Centre which includes an ice skating rink.

Places of worship range from historic churches to a synagogue, mosque,Sikh and Hindu temple, serving an area that is extremely diverse.

Well served with medical facilities, Slough has Wexham Park A&E Hospital to its north and Upton Hospital in the centre of town.

Surrounding the town centre there are a number of attractive villages. The urban area merges into the neighbouring parishes of Burnham, Datchet, Farnham Royal and Stoke Poges.

The town has technology at its heart but there is also plenty of green space for walks and spending a summer's afternoon relaxing.
Upton Park plays host to many carnivals and fun fairs during the year while Black Park and Burnham Beeches, allowing escape to the country, are only a few minutes away.

Transport

Slough is also part of the M4 corridor, an area near to the M4 motorway, and served for transport by the Great Western Main Line. There is a regular train service to London Paddington (20 minutes) and Heathrow is about 15-20 minutes away via the M4 and M25.
Slough is an area in the commuter belt for London, and has good transport links to Gatwick airports
