Co-captain Allen Crawshaw says a solid defence has allowed Windsor to play some ruthless rugby in their last couple of league fixtures, with the side acquiring more than 50 points without conceding at the weekend.

On Saturday, Windsor ran in nine tries at Home Park to trounce Milton Keynes 53-0 and climb to third in the Counties 1 Tribute Southern North table.

当然可以决定谁点区别gets promoted and who doesn’t at the end of the season and Crawshaw is proud of how his men have performed in attack and defence so far.

Speaking at full-time on Saturday, he said: “Today we picked up another good win. We showed, particularly in the first half, some good attacking shape and good lines of running. What we are playing now is nice expansive rugby, quite the entertaining brand of rugby too.

“We didn’t concede a try again today, that’s two games in a row. I think a solid defence is really giving us a platform to go and play that attacking, ruthless rugby.

“It is always difficult when you score early, like we did today, to keep the mindset of being ruthless. But, points difference may be a big factor at the end of the season because, as Chris (Emmett) mentioned, our aim this season is to get promoted, so we know we have to keep scoring as much as we can.”

Crawshaw added: “Andy (Symons) has implemented a lot of good things this season. We’re trying to build a good culture on and off the pitch. At the end of the day, we are all here to play rugby for enjoyment and there is nothing better than playing with 18 lads on a Saturday and enjoy a good win.

“It is so hard to pick out a man of the match as everyone played well. You saw the workrate in the last minute, the boys busting a gut to make sure we didn’t concede. The boys made recovery tackles, they ran the length of the pitch so it’s difficult to pick out anyone individually.”
