Marlow resident offers free cleaning services to women fighting breast cancer

Women affected by breast cancer in the Marlow area are being offered free cleaning to help their mental wellbeing as they battle the disease.

She was motivated to make the offer after her mother and aunt fought breast cancer.

James Close resident, Rebecca said: “Two women really close to me have been affected by breast cancer, and I wanted to do what I could to make life easier for a few women who are going through hell.”

Her mother, Debbie Kane was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 after a routine mammogram caught the cancer at stage one. After it was removed, she went through six weeks of radiotherapy and has been in the clear for six years.

“When my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer it was really scary, she was one of the lucky ones," added Rebecca.

“Radiotherapy left her tired and in pain, and it meant that household chores could be a struggle.”

Rebecca’s aunt Susan Delaroche discovered a lump in 2000. She had a lumpectomy, six treatments of chemotherapy every three weeks, and four weeks of radiotherapy. After 12 months of treatment she went into remission, and has been clear since.

“During her chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the family rallied around and helped keep my aunt’s home running. She really appreciated the help, and it made a big difference to her recovery,” said Rebecca.

“We’re only a small business and we wish we could do more, but hopefully giving a few women a clean home will take a little stress out of their lives.

“The Cleaning Hack’s motto is transforming space to transform minds, and I strongly believe that a tidy house can be a weight off people’s minds.

The Cleaning Hack was founded by Rebecca in October 2021 and offers commercial and residential cleaning.

Rebecca is asking women to get in touch, and asking friends and family to nominate women who would benefit from a little extra help by emailing info@thecleaninghack.co.uk with a contact number, address, and name of the nominee.
