Slough Town player manager Scott Davies (above) lauded his team’s character after they came back from behind twice against a strong Farnborough outfit to draw 2-2 on Saturday.

叛军发现自己只有90后0 - 1落后seconds at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium, as Alfie Pavey poked the ball past Rohan Luthra, neatly assisted by Taylor Maloney.

This early blow was rather impractical for Slough who came into the clash looking to maintain an unbeaten streak and it took them time to settle.

However, once they shook off the setback, Davies’ men got themselves on the ball and made their possession count with Nathan Minhas able to restore parity inside the box in the 27th minute.

The remainder of the first half was closely fought with chances at a premium.

Frustratingly, the second half began just like the first with Farnborough fast out the blocks and scoring early on, Maloney bulging the back of the net with a fierce strike in the 50th minute.

With their heads down, the Rebels had to endure a lengthy spell of pressure from the Yellows and Pavey came close to putting the game to bed.

But, once this storm was weathered, Slough pushed into the home side’s half and were awarded a free kick in a favourable position after Minhas was brought down.

Stepping up to take the set piece, Davies competently fired the ball into the top right corner leaving goalkeeper Jack Turner bewildered.

This equaliser sparked hope in the Rebels, and they went hunting for a winner, but the Farnborough defence held firm until the final whistle.

“我想有时候当你在游戏snatch a draw, it can feel like a win. There are so many positives to take from Saturday,” Davies said to the Express this week.

“We showed great character, we showed belief, a little bit of grit, and a willingness to get back in the game.

“Truthfully, I don’t think we should have found ourselves behind in the first place but we did because of a sloppy mistake.

“To come away from there with a point was a great result in the end because it is a really tough place to go.

“It was nice to get a goal and help the boys get back into the game. I think sometimes as a manager you have to justify picking yourself a little bit more than you do for another player. It was nice to play my part in getting us a point.”

Slough Town’s attention now turns to their FA Cup clash with Southern League Premier Division South outfit Salisbury this weekend.

The Whites were unbeaten this season until they went down to a 2-1 defeat away at Sholing on Tuesday evening.

“It’s going to be a really tough game for us, there’s no doubt about it,” said Davies.

“ They are a really good, youthful and energetic side who play football in a really nice fashion. We know we have got to go there and be on our A-game to get anything.

“If we have to bring them back to Arbour Park on Tuesday night then so be it - that could be a positive.

“It’s not a foregone conclusion that because we are in the higher league, we are going to go there and roll them over. We will have to be fully prepared and I am sure that we will be.”

Davies added: “The only players absent are George Alexander and Dom Hutchinson because their parent clubs won’t let them play in the FA Cup.

“Everyone else is back with a clean bill of health. We have a fully fit squad to choose from.”
