英超联赛造访了处女膜ed this week as primary school pupils learnt about important life skills.

The Premier League Primary Stars programme uses the appeal of English football’s top division to inspire children in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.

The project is run by the Premier League Charitable Fund which aims to create positive and lasting sporting, health and education outcomes for young people and the wider community.

On Monday, 30 pupils from Courthouse, Oldfield and Riverside primary schools were welcomed to Maidenhead’s historic York Road ground to take part in a range of activities.

This included maths sessions delivered by Home-Me, environmental workshops with former Royal Borough councillor Donna Stimson, PE activities with the London Irish Foundations and first aid training by NDA Training.

The Advertiser’s sports reporting team of Daniel Darlington and Josh Browne also put pupils through their paces on a session about writing match reports and using descriptive words.

Pupils also had a surprise visit from a trio of Maidenhead United players, including Saturday’s FA Cup hat-trick hero Tobi Sho-Silva, goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu and winger Simone O’Brien.

The trio were put on the spot when the inquisitive youngsters asked questions including on who is the better player, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Warren Browne, Premier League Primary Stars co-ordinator for Maidenhead United FC in the Community, said: “What a day. Our Non-Curriculum Day was supported by an amazing group of external visitors which have made 30 children’s learning experience truly amazing.

“From learning how to use CPR, to budgeting a fantasy football team, creating reports on MUFC players and staff, tug of war against one-another, to implementing new ideas to keep our community environmentally sustainable.

“We are so lucky to work with these external companies to support the next generation with their learning designed to mirror the curriculum and enjoy a new hands-on experience, which has provided those with a boost of confidence, self-esteem, and positive communication and teamwork.

“We wrapped up our day with a Q&A session with Maidenhead United FC stars, Tobi Sho-Silva, Daniel Jinadu, and Simone O’Brien.

“The children asked some challenging questions to our stars, who replied with some great insight, knowledge, and advice for our young stars. The standout question had to be “Who's Better? Messi or Ronaldo?”
