Zero-waste shop Filling Good is opening a competition to find an environmental group or project to donate a portion of its profits.

Filling Good members – 138 and counting – voted unanimously to donate £3,000 – 30 per cent of the shop’s profits, to environmental initiatives in September.

Members committed to donate £1,500 of the profits to Tree Sisters, a UK-based social change and reforestation charity.

The remaining £1,500 one-off donation is still up for grabs.

Locals are encouraged to apply by October 22.

Then, it will be up to customers to decide. An in-store token voting system will allow every customer the chance to cast their vote each time they shop.

Voting will take place until the December 1 and will be counted the following week.

To apply, submit a summary about the environmental group or project (1,000 words maximum) with the organisation name, charity number (if applicable) and logo to shopping@fillinggood.co.uk
