Weekend closure planned on M4 for smart motorway works

The M4 is set to close between Maidenhead and Slough this weekend for smart motorway works.

National Highways has confirmed the motorway will be shut in both directions between Junction 8/9 (Maidenhead) and Junction 6 (Slough/Windsor).

The closure will be in place from 8pm on Friday to 6am on Monday on the westbound carriageway.

The eastbound carriageway will be shut from 9pm until 6am over the same period.

The following midweek closures are also planned for structural inspection works:

• Tuesday, October 10 - Eastbound closure from Junction 8/9 Maidenhead to Junction 6 (Slough/Windsor) from 9pm until 6am
• Wednesday, October 11 - Eastbound closure from Junction 8/9 Maidenhead to Junction 6 (Slough/Windsor) from 9pm until 6am
• Thursday, October 12 - Eastbound closure from Junction 8/9 Maidenhead to Junction 6 (Slough/Windsor) from 9pm until 6am
