Marlow's attacking quartet likened to 'Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse'

The devastating impact of Marlow’s attacking quartet of wingers has been likened to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse by boss Mark Bartley.

The appearance of Four Horsemen has historically been the sign that the end of the world is approaching.

And when the Blues boss is able to name Rhys Harper, Kai Hamilton-Olise, Naheer-Omar Nawaf and Khalid Simmo in his matchday squad, opposition sides are often left facing equally dire prospects.

Saturday’s resounding 4-0 victory over Leatherhead saw Bartley able to call on his array of attacking options and the hosts blew away their promotion-chasing opposition.

A first-half brace from Josh Boorn and a strike on the half-hour mark from Ben Mulley put Marlow firmly in control before prolific striker Dawid Rogalski sealed the game in the 47th minute.

Bartley told the Advertiser: “Dawid at the front end has been prolific and ultimately we’re in the position where my four wide players are like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

“Those guys work rate is just phenomenal and when you look at the recent run we’ve had, those four wide players are absolutely key to what we’re doing.

“Rhys Harper, Naheer Nawaf, Kai Hamilton Olise and Khalid Simmo. I’ve not seen better wide men than them this season.

“他们都知道他们的角色在阵容中and what they need to do.”

Bartley的进攻选项都有德cisive moments so far in the campaign with Harper the match-winner away at Guernsey and Simmo’s performance in a 3-1 victory away at Northwood in October described as ‘on another planet’.

But the Blues boss also reserved praise for the hard-running Josh Boorn who was rewarded with a brace for his tireless work ethic at Oak Tree Road on Saturday.

Bartley added: “When we were sitting down and picking the side, we thought they’d struggle with runners from midfield. We thought Josh is probably our best runner without the ball so it was a no-brainer to start him.

“That characteristic is what created the two openings for him to get his goals.”

Floodlight failure saw Tuesday’s home fixture against Uxbridge postponed – depriving Marlow of the chance to go top of the Isthmian South Central Division.

But Bartley acknowledged with a number of teams tightly grouped near the top of the table, the onus will be on the Blues to maintain their consistency.

“We’re really pleased with our start and we’ve been able to tweak and rotate the side. It’s a great start for us and we just need to keep it up,” Bartley said.

Marlow travel to 9th placed Chipstead on Saturday.
