Scarecrow Trail opens today in Twyford – over 60 sites to visit

There’s some spooky happenings in Twyford this half term.

The village’s first-ever Scarecrow Trail will be popping up from Monday October 23 taking families on a five-day fun jaunt around businesses and residential areas.

The theme for this inaugural event is based around films so expect to see plenty of straw versions of popular screen stars.

To help trail-goers, a map is available from Grapevine Estate Agent, Twyford.

They cost £3 each and lead to all the scarecrows decorating the village.

Trail wanderers can then vote for their favourite scarecrow and even collect a small treat when returning their maps to Grapevine on London Road.

They are entered into a prize draw as well.

The event is a PTA fundraiser for two of the village’s schools, Colleton and Polehampton, who are joining forces to raise money for their communities

Organiser Cat Hignell said: “The Twyford Scarecrow Trail promises an enchanting journey through the village, with over 60 creatively designed, movie-themed scarecrows on display.

“Each scarecrow is uniquely crafted by local residents, businesses and community groups, showcasing their creativity, artistry and imagination.

“This event is perfect for families looking for engaging activities during the half-term break. Children will have the opportunity to discover these delightful scarecrow creations, sparking their own creativity and imagination.”

The Twyford Scarecrow Trail runs from 9am-5pm between October 23-28.
