A water main in Waltham St Lawrence is due to be replaced with a six-figure investment after suffering six bursts within five years.
South East Water will begin work to replace the mains in Broadmoor Road where residents have previously suffered low pressure and no water due to frequent bursts.
More than 450 metres of the burst-prone pipeline in the village will be replaced in a £230,000 investment into the water network.
Works are due to begin on Monday, October 9, with temporary traffic lights in place from the junction with Shurlock Road to just after the junction with Pool Lane.
South East Water project manager Jeremy Dufour, said: “This is an important project for us as we look to replace a water main that has burst six times within the last five years.
“This is unacceptable to us and we have identified this as a key investment to improve our water supply network and ensure that residents in Waltham St Lawrence do not experience the same issues with low pressure or no water.
“We are sorry for any disruption this vital project may cause and we’ll be working as quickly and safely as possible to try to finish ahead of schedule.”
Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may also be some activity at weekends. The project is expected to take around 16 weeks to complete.
