公关赞助:伯克利庆祝修道院视图imary Academy Green Flag award with flagpole donation

Berkeley Homes has been working in close partnership with Abbey View Primary Academy since building works began onsite at its High Wycombe development, Abbey Barn Park.

In 2020, prior to opening The Ride to the wider community, Berkeley enabled early access to the country park for the children at the Academy.

Since then, the pupils have been able to enjoy the natural environment there for their Forest School outdoor learning programme and forest school activities - using the natural woodland setting to enable them to experience free, holistic, child-led play and learning in an outdoor setting.

The Academy has recently achieved a Distinction Green Flag Award - visible recognition for their commitment to Learning for Sustainability and an internationally recognised accreditation for excellence in sustainable education.

Distinctions are only awarded to schools that go above and beyond the 7 step measurement criteria of the award. To celebrate the award, Berkeley has donated a flagpole to allow them to proudly display their Eco School Green Flag for all to see.

Caroline McHardy, Land Director, Berkeley Oxford & Chilterns comments: “Working with and supporting community related projects is a key part of our strategy on every scheme we undertake. We have a long- standing partnership with Abbey View Primary Academy - its Forest school outdoor learning programme which takes place in the woodlands at Abbey Barn Park, has been a huge success with the children.

"We are delighted to be able to help them celebrate their recent award by installing a flagpole to showcase their commitment to providing sustainable education.”

“We’re also pleased to share that we’ve just signed a lease with the Chiltern Rangers for them to build and occupy a new community facility on the site. The Chiltern Rangers mission is to enhance the Chilterns' habitats through conservation, education and community engagement, so we are delighted that they have chosen to create a base at Abbey Barn Park.”

Abbey Barn Park is now a thriving new community with residents enjoying the beautiful rural setting with all the convenience of good connections and a fantastic array of amenities close by. Regular seasonal activities such as Easter Egg Hunts, Summer Fun Days and ecology walks etc, take place to help build and maintain the thriving community spirit.
