Police investigation underway after fire at Slough Tyre Centre

A police investigation is currently underway after firefighters were called to a fire at a tyre centre in Slough last night, Langley Fire Station has revealed.

At around 10.40pm on Sunday night (September 17), crews from Slough, Langley and Windsor Fire Stations were called out to Slough Tyre Station on Petersfield Avenue.

No individuals were injured in the incident but a spokesperson from Langley Fire Station stated that a police investigation is currently underway as the cause of the fire is unknown.

Tyres in the external tyre storage area outside the shop were on fire and the spokesperson added the fire looked 'deliberate'.

One fire crew from Langley, two from Slough and one for Windsor Fire Stations were on the scene 'for a couple of hours' and two hose reels were used.

A police cordon is in place at Slough Tyre Centre.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a fire at an address in Petersfield Avenue, Slough, at 11pm yesterday (September 17).

“Officers are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

“Anyone with information, or with any dash-cam footage in the area of Petersfield Avenue between 10pm and midnight, should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43230418121.

“Alternatively, provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
