Increased police presence after fight involving knife in Langley

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident that happened at around 3.30pm yesterday (September 21) on Quantock Close, Langley.

It is reported that three men were involved in an altercation, and one is believed to have been carrying a knife.

No one has been reported as injured. Officers attended the scene and also made searches near to the leisure centre in Langley.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jessica Lederman, said: “We are carrying out an investigation following this incident.

“Members of the public will have seen an increased police presence while we carry out enquiries and additional patrols are in place.

“Following enquiries we have made, we can confirm that this incident is not being linked with any other investigations and we do not believe there was a wider danger to the public.

“If anyone has any information of CCTV footage in connection with this incident we would ask them to please get in touch via our website, or by calling 101 quoting reference 43230424500.

“Or if you do not wish to speak to police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and provide information 100% anonymously.”

Thames Valley Police authorised a Section 60 order in Slough following a number of violent incidents.

A Section 60 order temporarily allows police officers greater powers to stop and search.

The order will be in place until 8.15pm today (Friday).

A statement from Thames Valley Police said anyone with concerns or questions should speak to the Thames Valley Police officers on patrol.
