A Maidenhead junior school has been recognised for its commitment to sports competition for young people.
All Saints CofE Junior School achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award, a government-led award scheme, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, to reward the development of sports competition.
Schools must demonstrate ‘positive experiences’ for children by ensuring physical activity and competition provision reflects motivation, competence and confidence.
In the past year, All Saints pupils have taken part in a range of sporting events, including the Primary Dance Festival, Winter School Games Festival, and Inter-house Football Competition.
Executive headteacher Andy Snipp said: “We are so pleased that the hard work of everyone at All Saints has been recognised with this award.
“With a total of 93 young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, and those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made the Ascot and Maidenhead School Partnership competitions possible.
“A special thanks also goes to our incredible staff, fantastic parents, and Maidenhead Magpies FC for helping develop football skills for our inter-house event.”
