The TSI World Bees inflicted a first regulation time loss of the season on the Hull Seahawks this weekend as Dominik Gabaj’s side continue to look strong contenders for the play-offs.

The Bees came through two tricky games, losing the first 4-1 to current leaders Leeds Knights on Saturday before bouncing back to defeat the Seahawks 4-3 on Sunday.

Leeds were quick to assert their authority on Saturday’s game with Mac Howlett outstripping the Bees’ defence to score from Matt Haywood’s pass after 1.03 minutes.

一个点球被称为Marcel Balaz for a high stick in the second period before the Knights slapped home their second of the game through Bailey Pere in the 26th minute.

Kieran Brown was a constant threat throughout the match, and he managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 39th minute, while the Bees finally managed to make a breakthrough after 39.13 when Vanya Antonov found the net.

Both teams tightened up in the third period, but the Knights managed to restore their three-goal cushion through Matt Haywood on 48.35.

The Bees began Sunday evening’s clash with a point to prove having lost their last encounter with the Seahawks 7-0. The game ebbed and flowed in the early stages, but the Bees grabbed the first goal of the evening in the 14th minute through Marcel Balaz, shortly after he returned to the ice following a two-minute penalty for hooking. Player coach Dominik Gabaj and Vanya Antonov provided the assists.

The Bees were handed a big advantage when Seahawks Declan Balmer received a five-minute penalty for Boarding, and Gabaj’s side took full advantage with captain Stuart Mogg doubling their advantage just 45 seconds into the second period. Dan Rose and netminder Brython Preece assisted the goal. The Seahawks were still short-handed when Dominik Gabaj made it 3-0 with assists awarded to Vanya Antonov and Marcel Balaz. Finlay Ulrick got the Seahawks on the scoreboard with a powerplay goal at 32.16, Emil Svec and Tom Barry with the assists, and Hull managed to close the gap further when Bobby Young got their second of the night on 45.52.

A two-minute tripping penalty was called against Vanya Antonov but that didn’t stop the Bees pressing for a fourth goal which arrived through Gabaj on 47.28.

A powerplay enabled Finlay Ulrick to score again at 56.40 with Brock Bartholomew and Emil Svec getting the assists but the Bees managed to skate away with two valuable points.
