David Mobbs-Smith believes form will go out of the window when Bracknell visit Braywick Park to play Maidenhead on Saturday.

In recent seasons Maids have gone into these games against their derby rivals as firm favourites but have often come unstuck.

The head coach may then hope that form goes out of the window once again at the weekend, with Maids having lost five of their opening six fixtures.

They sit third from bottom, above only Bournemouth and Horsham, while Bracknell come into this weekend’s game in fifth place having won 3 of their opening six fixtures.

Maids head into the game off the back of Saturday’s disappointing 38-24 loss to Horsham while Bracknell edged out CS Stags 37-31 at home in a thriller.

“The form just goes out of the window in these games,” said Mobbs-Smith. “We’ve been top of the table and in great form, but they’ve come here and won.

“The derby factor means the form goes. You must discount form a little when you play these types of matches. We’re going to review our defensive systems to see if we can get them a little tighter. We’re looking at the technique for our tackling and application in our defensive areas.

“We also need to sharpen up our attack, so that we can keep the ball a little longer. The best form of defence is for us to have the ball. In a football sense, it’s hard to score against Man City because they have somewhere between 60-75 per cent of the ball in the game.”
