Thames Valley Buses announces fare increase for Maidenhead

The bus operator, formerly known as Courney Buses, has routes in Maidenhead and surrounding areas

Thames Valley Bus users in Maidenhead may have noticed a change in their ticket fare today (November 1) as the operator increases its prices.

的短途旅行者SimplyMaidenhead区,cost of a day pass bought on the bus has jumped 20p to £5.50 for an adult, and by 30p to £3.60 for an 18-or-under Boost ticket.

Among the fares which have seen the largest increase are Boost monthly passes, having risen from £45 to £50.

However, Thames Valley Buses has advised the £2 single ticket cap will remain in place.

The SimplyMaidenhead zone, run by Thames Valley Buses, covers routes in the Maidenhead area including destinations up to Fifield on route 16 and Taplow Sainsbury on route 53.

On its website, the bus operator said: “Some of our fares will be changing from Wednesday 1 November. We have tried to hold as many fares as possible, but some fares are having to change.

“We are pleased to confirm that we will be continuing to offer the £2 maximum single fare across our services following the extension of the UK government Help for Households scheme until at least 31st December 2023.”

Other announced increases include a 50p rise in day Boost pass tickets bought on the app to £3.60, bringing this in line with a ticket bought on the bus.

In addition, both adult and Boost weekly passes bought on the bus have increased by £1 to £21 and £14.50 respectively.

A contactless 'tap on, tap off' feature has also been introduced to the 127, 128 and 129 routes, connecting Wokingham Town Centre and Reading Town Centre.
