REVIEW: From Stage to Screen

As many know, the ‘E’ in EBOS stands for ‘East’, as in ‘The East Berkshire Operatic Society’, but after enjoying their ‘From Stage To Screen’ showcase, that could easily signify ‘Entertainment’ with a capital ‘E’ as well.

折衷的24从tha音乐剧歌曲t have transferred from theatre to cinema, this was an entertaining evening were an ensemble of 14 talented singers and performers, each with fabulous and distinctive voices, crooned, serenaded, harmonised and belted out songs old and new.

Highlights for me, in a show of highlights, were Ben Burdon’s ‘If I Were A Rich Man’ from ‘Fiddler On The Roof’, Emily Hobbs and Steve Crompton’s showstopper, ‘A Little Priest’ from ‘Sweeny Todd’, and the whole company’s stirring rendition of ‘You Will Be Found’ from ‘Dear Evan Hanson’.

Director & Choreographer, Hannah Coe, along with Musical Director, Abi Burrows should be proud of what they and their cast and crew have achieved, as well as continuing the EBOS legacy of bringing local talent and entertainment into the spotlight.
